More than 300 cans of food were collected for Limestone County Churches Involved’s food bank Tuesday during the Athens Mardi Gras Block Party, hosted by the Athens State Artheads and Athens Arts League. The event featured decorated shopping carts where members of the community could drop off nonperishable food items. Displaying the haul are league members Amy Golden, Diane Lehr, Jennifer Hilton Sampieri, Holly Hollman and Olivia Golden.
