The girlfriend of an Athens man charged in January with possessing child pornography is now facing the same charge in Limestone County, an official said.

Shavonna Sue Barton, 26, of 26240 Nick Davis Road, has been charged with two counts of possession of child pornography, records show. She is free on $5,000 bond.

Barton’s boyfriend — Jeremy Roy Cameron, 29, same address — was arrested Jan. 20 after Limestone County Sheriff’s investigators found child pornography on his mobile phone, which was found during a search in November. He was charged with two counts of child porn possession and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia, according to Deputy Stephen Young, public information officer for the Sheriff’s Office.

Cameron is free on $11,000 bond.

On Monday, Investigator Kristin King told Young the phone on which pornographic images were found was in possession of both Cameron and Barton, which Barton admitted to investigators. King also told Young both Cameron and Barton had their own email accounts logged into the phone with porn on both email accounts.

Lt. Johnny Morell discovered the pornographic images on the phone following extensive forensic examination of the device, which Cameron had in his possession during the execution of the November search warrant, Young said.

A new search warrant was issued for Cameron’s residence Jan. 20, and other devices were confiscated, including a computer, gaming systems and more cellular phones. These devices are also undergoing forensic analysis, Young said.
