• Financial Peace University. Emmanuel Baptist Church will host Financial Peace University, nine-week class on planning for the future and handling personal finances, starting 6:30–8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, at the church on U.S. 72 West. • Clothes giveaway. St. Mark P.B. Church will host a free clothing giveaway from 8 a.m.–noon Saturday, Jan. 20, at 740 Sanderfer Road, Athens, in the church’s fellowship hall. This giveaway is open to all.
