A man killed in a one-car crash this morning has been identified, an official said.

Limestone County Coroner Mike West identified the victim as 42-year-old Robert Jones of Athens. He said Jones was en route to work when the crash occurred a short distance from his residence.

The crash was reported at 5:30 a.m. and occurred on Huntsville Browns Ferry Road, just west of Wales Road.

State troopers are investigating the cause.
