One person was killed this morning in a one-vehicle crash, an official said.

Limestone County Coroner Mike West said the fatal accident occurred at about 5:30 a.m. on Huntsville Browns Ferry Road, just west of Wales Road.

The victim was in a white Ford Expedition or Mercury counterpart. West was withholding the name of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.

He said the victim was not wearing a seat belt.

State troopers are investigating the cause of the crash.
