Moonshine, a young Palomino, stands tall in his warm winter gear Wednesday at Thach Creek Stables at the corner of Thach Road and Alabama 251 in Limestone County. Diane Faulk, who runs the stables with her husband Ronnie, said the horses are generally covered up whenever the temperature drops below 40 degrees. Wednesday's lows were expected to drop into the teens overnight. Today's highs will hit the mid-40s with a wind chill in the teens.
