(RNN) – With just a few days left in 2017, Mother Nature is getting its act together on this whole winter thing.

The northern United States is in the deep freeze from Montana to Maine. The National Weather Service warned of wind chills between minus 15 and 30 degrees below zero in parts of northern and central Illinois.

Low temperatures could even hit the teens in the Deep South. There’s a chance of snow too. It’s going to stay cold into next week.

There’s a crazy temperature difference between North Dakota and Florida. Pack a change of clothes for the nearly 100 degree change.

The snow continues to pile up in Erie, PA. More than 5 feet has fallen in the last week.

In Nebraska, the snow’s not as bad, but the farm animals have to put up with single digit temps and a dusting of powder.

Of course, it could always be worse. In Canada, where they’re used to cold temperatures and lots of snow, they have a sense of humor about such things.
