The keynote speaker will be Cortney Cooper Slaughter, Alabama National Outstanding Assistant Principal of the Year. Additional presentations will be made by Vic Wilson, executive director of the Council for Leaders in Alabama Schools and Richard Reynolds, director of the Huntsville Achievement School.

After a welcome by Athens State University President Dr. Bob Glenn and College of Education Dean Dr. Patricia Sims, students will be broken into sessions facilitated by public school educators and Athens State faculty.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for us to introduce high school students to the possibilities of education as a career,” Sims said. “The previous conferences have been a huge success, and we are looking forward to reaching out to new future educators who will benefit tremendously from this experience.”
