If you plan on attending the Trustmark Christmas Parade in Athens Thursday, the Limestone County District Attorney’s Office would like you to consider giving back to the community.
District Attorney Brian C.T. Jones and staff will hold its seventh annual Community Needs Drive. As the District Attorney’s Office float proceeds along the route, it will be accepting items as part of the drive.
Items sought include:
• Canned foods for Limestone County Churches Involved;
• New blankets;
• Warm hats;
• Gloves for children and adults;
• Socks for children of all ages;
• Children’s books (all ages);
• Coloring books and crayons; and
• Flashcards and learning activities for children for the Limestone County Department of Human Resources.
“In 2016, we had a heartwarming outpouring of generosity. We collected a lot of items at our office and a lot of items during the parade on the float,” Jones said. “I want to personally thank each and every person who made our sixth annual Community Needs Drive a huge success. This year, with even more of our neighbors in need, I pray that we can build upon last year’s accomplishments and work together to benefit Limestone County.”
