An Athens man and woman are facing numerous drug charges after investigators found “ice” methamphetamine and other drugs as well as numerous guns during an early morning search Monday.

Jeremy Roy Cameron, 29, and Shavonna Sue Barton, 25, both of 26240 Nick Davis Road, were booked into the Limestone County Jail following their arrests, said Deputy Stephen Young, public information officer for the Sheriff’s Office.

Cameron is charged with drug trafficking, first-degree illegal possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond has not been set at this time.

Barton is charged with possession of a controlled substance (meth), second-degree illegal possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail is set at $4,500.

Armed with a search warrant, the Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team, along with investigators and the Limestone Correctional Facility’s K9 duo of Sgt. Aaron McCarley and his dog Kilo, entered the couple’s residence on Nick Davis early Monday.

“Cameron and Barton were in their bedroom, with weapons within reach, when the team made entry,” Young said. “The team secured the residence and the two suspects. Narcotics investigators Jamie King and Anthony Bruno found 11.7 ounces of “ice” meth, 1.3 ounces of marijuana and 3.5 Xanax bars in a safe in the bedroom. They also found nine long guns, three pistols and $9,012 in cash at the residence.”

Investigators seized the above items and three cars, five trucks, one Jeep, three motorcycles, one zero-turn mower and a boat and trailer.
