Limestone County Commission Chairman Mark Yarbrough and Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle will announce more jobs are coming to Limestone County as part of an automotive-related manufacturing facility.

The officials’ announcement is set for 10 a.m. Thursday at the Huntsville/Madison County Chamber of Commerce. Yarbrough provided no details about the announcement at Wednesday’s Limestone County Commission work session, except it would be a “good thing” for Limestone County.

Tom Hill, president of the Limestone County Economic Development Association, also declined to comment on specifics of the project. He did say, however, the deal has been in the works since February.

According to a public notice that appeared in the weekend edition of The News Courier, the project is a result of a project development agreement between Limestone County, the city of Huntsville, the Limestone County Economic Development Association and Bocar US Inc., a Delaware-based company.

A web search of “Bocar US Inc.” yielded no clues about the identity of the company. The notice said the advanced manufacturing company would produce die-cast products and aluminum gravity casings for the automotive industry.

The agreement authorizes Limestone County to provide up to $400,000 in incentives to Bocar to build a facility in Huntsville-annexed Limestone County. Those funds, according to the public notice, will be contingent on Bocar construction deadlines and hiring targets being met.
