Fall revival. Salem Springs Baptist Church will conclude its fall revival at 6:30 p.m. tonight. Evangelist Roger Haney will serve as guest speaker. This event is open to the public.

After-school program. The after-school program from 3-5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays at David’s Temple Church in Tanner accepts children ages 5-18. Homework assistants, tutoring and study hall are available. Van pickup is available to all Athens city schools except Athens High. Children from Tanner High can ride the bus. Family fun day. Alabama Fork Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America Inc. will sponsor a community family fun day from 10 a.m until 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, at Lincoln-Bridgeforth Park in Athens. Event activities include wellness screenings, children’s activities, a car show, STEM activities, visits from Magical Memories characters, food and more. Brother Amos Williams Jr. will lead praise and worship. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged and can be completed at eventbrite.com under “Community Family Fun Day 2017.”

Fall festival. Tanner United Methodist Church’s fall festival will be noon until 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28. Admission is free. Games, trunk-or-treat and hot dogs will be provided.

Appreciation service. Athelstine Lodge No. 71 will host an appreciation service for Past Master Johnny Pryor at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28. The service will be held at Round Island Creek Missionary Baptist Association Mission Building, located at 1329 Lucas Ferry Road in Athens. Tickets are $10 each. Men’s and women’s day. Sweet Home M.B. Church in Athens will observe their annual Men’s and Women’s Day at 11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 29. Minister Keith Shoulders Jr. of Little Zion M.B. Church in Athens will be the guest speaker. The event is open to the public and will take place at 803 Westmoreland St.

Worship hour. Holt Road Baptist Church will host a worship hour with luncheon and gospel singing to follow starting at 11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 29, at the church in Athens. Singing group “The Servants” will perform at 1 p.m.

Judgment House. First Baptist Church will have two more nights of Judgment House on Oct. 29 and Nov. 1. This year’s judgment house focuses on a young man who is bullied and turns to revenge and how these decisions affect what a person experiences in eternity. The walk-through drama will take guests through multiple rooms that tell a story about people whose lives have been cut short by tragedy, as well as how their deaths impact their family and what they experience beyond the grave. Hot chocolate Halloween. Tanner United Methodist Church will serve hot chocolate in the church foyer 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31.

Women’s conference. The 2017 Seasons of Life Women’s Conference will be held 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 4, at Friendship Church. Appreciation day. Westside Church of Christ will host Family & Friends Day and Minister’s Appreciation Day starting at 10 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 5. The church will honor Minister Alvin and Sister Beverly Simmons with worship at 10 a.m., Bible study at 11:15 a.m., lunch at 12:30 p.m. and afternoon worship at 2:30 p.m. Guest speaker is Minister Harold Wells of Newcomb Street Church of Christ in Decatur. Homecoming. Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church will celebrate homecoming and 139 years of church services starting at 10:15 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 5. Morning services will be led by Pastor Mylon Burwell with music from the Mt. Zion sanctuary choir. Afternoon fellowship will begin at 2 p.m. with special guest Dr. Maurice Childress, pastor of Meridianville Primitive Baptist Church.

Swamp Johns. St. Mark P.B. Church of Athens will host a Swamp Johns dinner from 4-7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 6, at Jimmy Gill Park. Plates are $10 each. Proceeds from sales will benefit St. Mark Youth. More information: Francene, 256-431-8886.

Smart Money. Emmanuel Baptist Church will live-stream Dave Ramsey’s Smart Money Event at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7. The event is free and will feature Dave Ramsey and his daughter, Rachel Cruze. Registration at ebcathens.com. More information: 256-232-6193.

Christmas market. Epic Church will host the Epic Christmas Market at the Limestone County Event Center in Athens from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11. Vendor items include jewelry, clothes, crafts, home goods, cosmetics, personalized items and more. Payment proceeds from vendors will be used for families in need during the holiday season.
