An Athens mom stands charged with chemical endangerment of a child after her infant son tested positive for methamphetamine, an official said Wednesday.

Diamond White, 24, of 14726 Evans Road, was arrested Tuesday on a warrant related to the charge, Athens Police Chief Floyd Johnson said.

On Oct. 11, the Police Department received a complaint from the Department of Human Resources about the woman’s son testing positive for methamphetamine, Johnson said.

Her child was born in March of this year.

White was booked at the Police Department and transferred to the Limestone County Jail, where she was released after posting bail of $5,000, records show.
