A man convicted of sexually abusing his granddaughter over the course of several years was sentenced Wednesday to 25 years in prison.
William Wesley Bryant Jr., 65, was found guilty Aug. 23 of one count of first-degree sodomy and three counts of sexual abuse of a child under 12. Circuit Judge Robert Baker sentenced Bryant to 25 years on the sodomy charge and 20 years for each of the sexual abuse charges.
The sentences will run concurrently, though Baker said he did not think this was any help to Bryant.
“Due to age and the law, there is a good chance you will never come out of prison,” Baker said.
