The Athens Water Department is working to repair a ruptured 12-inch water main along Linton Road between Alabama 251 and Fyne Drive. Motorists should use caution in this area.

Water is off between Alabama 251 and Fyne Drive to accommodate the repair work. At this time, one customer is experiencing a disruption to water service.

The department anticipates having the repairs made and full service restored by the end of the day.
