Lunch catered by Valley Services, served at 11 a.m.

The local Council on Aging would like to invite all those age 60 and older to visit the county’s senior centers. It is a great place to socialize, meet new people and sometimes reconnect with old friends. In addition to crafts, games, exercise and singing, patrons take the occasional trips. Transportation is furnished to the centers for those who need it.

Menus

• Monday: Three Swedish meatballs, yellow rice, buttered carrots, tropical, fruit, wheat bread, fudge round, milk.

• Tuesday: Grape juice, chicken pot pie, country corn, applesauce, wheat roll, white cake, milk.

• Wednesday: Meatloaf with tomato gravy, whipped potatoes, mustard greens, fresh fruit, cornbread, orange pineapple gelatin, milk or buttermilk.

• Thursday: Apple juice, hot dog with bun, baked beans, coleslaw and carrots, diced onions, hot apple cobbler, milk or chocolate milk.

• Friday: Cranberry juice, baked ham with pineapple sauce, whipped sweet potatoes lima beans, wheat roll, marble pudding, milk.

Art classes

The Limestone County Council on Aging is now hosting art classes for those 60 and older. Those interested should call Madison Curnutt at 256-216-3897 to reserve a spot as space is limited. The schedule is as follows:

• Athens Senior Center: Second Tuesday of each month, noon;

• Good Springs Activity Center: Third Thursday of each month, 9:45 a.m.;

• Owens Senior Center: Third Wednesday of each month, 9 a.m.;

• East Limestone Senior Center: Third Tuesday of each month, 9:30 a.m.;

• Tanner Senior Center: First Thursday of each month, 10 a.m.
