- Air Force One, carrying President Donald Trump and U.S. Sen. Richard Shelby, R-Alabama, flies over County Line Road as it approaches Huntsville International Airport Friday evening. The plane landed shortly before 6:30 p.m. and the presidential motorcade departed the airport about 15 minutes later en route to the Von Braun Center in Huntsville.

The plane landed shortly before 6:30 p.m. and the presidential motorcade departed the airport about 15 minutes later en route to the Von Braun Center in Huntsville. Traffic on Interstate 565 was stopped in both directions as the motorcade traveled east toward Huntsville. President Trump was in Huntsville for a rally in support of appointed U.S. Sen. Luther Strange, R-Alabama. Strange and Roy Moore will face off Tuesday in a primary runoff election. The winner will face Democratic challenger Doug Jones in a December special election.
