• After-school program. The after-school program from 3-5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays at David’s Temple Church in Tanner accepts children ages 5-18. Homework assistants, tutoring and study hall are available. Van pickup is available to all Athens city schools except Athens High. Children from Tanner High can ride the bus. • Tent revival. The Book of Acts Holiness Church presents “Old Fashion Tent Revival on the Campground” at the corner of U.S. 72 and Browns Ferry Street at the following times: 6 p.m. today; 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21; 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22; and 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 23. • 21st anniversary service. Indian Creek P.B. Church will celebrate the 21st pastoral anniversary of the Rev. Timothy M. Rainey at 10 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 1. The Rev. Timothy Mark Rainey II of Atlanta will be the guest preacher. Indian Creek P.B. Church Mass Choir will sing during worship service. The theme this year is “A Pastor that Labors in Love According to the Word.” The church is located at 380 Indian Creek Road, Huntsville.
• 10th anniversary service. Mount Nebo Missionary Baptist Church will host a 10th anniversary celebration for the Rev. Timothy Townsend Sr. and First Lady starting at 11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 1. Associate Minister Tavares Townsend will deliver the 11 a.m. message, with Pastor Charles Simmons and Little Ezekiel M.B. Church will be on program for the 2:30 p.m. service. Lunch will be served.
• Revival. Shanghai First Baptist Church will host a revival series featuring evangelist Aaron Johnson and worship leader Greg Glaze at the following times: 11 a.m and 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 1; 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 2; and 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3. The Tuesday service will be a youth and children’s night with free pizza and drinks served at 5:30 p.m. Shanghai First Baptist Church is located at 13435 Elk River Mills Road, Athens.
