More than $16K in meth found during search for fugitive

PINSON, Ala. (AP) — More than $16,000 worth of methamphetamine was discovered in a couple’s home during a search for a fugitive.

AL.com reports Sgt. Jack Self with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office says deputies found meth and drug paraphernalia inside a residence into which they were allowed Tuesday while searching for 47-year-old Glenn Allen Shoemaker Jr., who is wanted for felony probation violation.

Shoemaker was not found. The department’s Narcotic Unit arrived with a search warrant for the residence. Self says agents found six ounces of meth, prescription pills, marijuana, two slot machines, body armor and 11 guns during the second search.

44-year-old Keith Allen Wade and 42-year-old Karen Amy Wade are charged with trafficking meth, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana. It’s unclear if they have lawyer.
