Lunch catered by Valley Services, served at 11 a.m.

The local Council on Aging would like to invite all those age 60 and older to visit the county’s senior centers. It is a great place to socialize, meet new people and sometimes reconnect with old friends. In addition to crafts, games, exercise and singing, patrons take occasional trips. Transportation is furnished to the centers for those who need it.

Menus

• Monday: Grape juice, chicken tetrazzini, Italian green beans with pepper, rutabagas, wheat bread, chocolate marshmallow pie, milk.

• Tuesday: Apple juice, ham and potato casserole, mustard greens, okra and tomatoes, cornbread, chocolate cake/whipped topping, milk/buttermilk.

• Wednesday: Hamburger/bun, baked beans, corn salad, lettuce/tomato/onion, hot peach clobber, milk/chocolate milk.

• Thursday: Zesty meatballs, (3), buttered rice, parslied, carrots, fresh fruit, Texas bread, banana pudding, milk.

• Friday: Blended juice, baked chicken thigh, mac/cheese, green peas, breadstick, cherry fruited gelatin, milk.

Art classes

The Limestone County Council on Aging is now hosting art classes for those 60 and older. Those interested should call Madison Curnutt at 256-216-3897 to reserve a spot as space is limited. The schedule is as follows:

• Athens Senior Center: Second Tuesday of each month, noon;

• Good Springs Activity Center: Third Thursday of each month, 9:45 a.m.;

• Owens Senior Center: Third Wednesday of each month, 9 a.m.;

• East Limestone Senior Center: Third Tuesday of each month, 9:30 a.m.;

• Tanner Senior Center: First Thursday of each month, 10 a.m.
