Congrats to Emma
(The author of the following letter addressed it directly to Emma Tarokh, who was recently selected as the Alabama State Games Female Athlete of the Year.)
Dear Emma,
You are the greatest young American I, personally, know. And to think — you are my precious little across-the-street-neighbor that I have known and loved all your sweet life.
What a tremendous accomplishment at the tender age of 10! Never in my 84, nearly 85, years have I been this close to a national award winner. Your achievement, along with your soccer team, is absolutely astonishing, and I am indeed proud to know and love you, Emma.
My heart has been touched by your generous and humble attitude and response when you are praised and congratulated. You have shown magnificent character that is contagious and you will surely be a positive influence on all of us who are fortunate enough to touch your life.
What a marvelous example you are setting for your peers. From me, you get a standing ovation. And, as always, my best wishes. God bless you, Emma!
With love and deep admiration,
Frances Andrews
