After-school program. The after-school program from 3-5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays at David’s Temple Church in Tanner accepts children ages 5-18. Homework assistants, tutoring and study hall are available. Van pickup is available to all Athens city schools except Athens High. Children from Tanner High can ride the bus. Prayer breakfast. Sweet Home M. B. Church will host their annual prayer breakfast at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9. Minister Karen Davis, associate minister of Little Elk M. B. Church in Athens, will be the guest speaker. The church is located at 803 Westmoreland St., Athens.

Fun in the Park. West Highland Baptist Church and Hispanic First Baptist Church will host Bible Fun in the Park Day from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, at Fifth Avenue Park in Athens. Lunch, snacks and drinks will be served. Two bicycles will be given away, but winners must be registered and present to win. Registration opens at 8:30 a.m.

Beth Moore. Clements Baptist Church will join the Beth Moore simulcast, “Captivated: The Wonder of Christ on the Winding Road,” from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16. Doors open at 8:30 a.m. Cost is $15 and includes lunch. Register online at clementsbaptist.org.

Gospel singing. Brother Squires Parson will perform at Greenbrier Baptist Church at 10:45 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 18. Event is free, but donations will be accepted. More information: 256-497-7349 or www.greenbrierbaptistchurch.net.
