Church anniversary. Capshaw Baptist Church will celebrate its 100th birthday during the 10:30 a.m. service on Sunday, Aug. 27, at 14944 Dupree Worthey Road, Harvest. Homecoming. Tanner United Methodist Church will host a homecoming service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 27, with a fellowship meal after the service.

After-school program. The after-school program at David’s Temple Church in Tanner accepts children ages 5-18 and lasts from 3-5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Homework assistants, tutoring and study hall will be available. Van pickup is available to all Athens City Schools except Athens High School. Children from Tanner High School can ride the bus. Beth Moore. Clements Baptist Church will join the Beth Moore simulcast, “Captivated: The Wonder of Christ on the Winding Road,” from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16. Doors open at 8:30 a.m. Cost is $15 and includes lunch. Register online at clementsbaptist.org.
