Teens questioned in connection to death at Publix in Madison-annexed Limestone

- The Publix on County Line Road in Madison-annexed Limestone County is one of 1,200 Publix stores nationwide that will require customers to wear masks when shopping beginning Tuesday. Target and CVS Health are other national chains that will require customers to wear masks, following the lead of Walmart, which announced its mask policy Wednesday.
Two teens are in custody in connection to a death that occurred late Monday night behind Publix in Madison-annexed Limestone County.
Madison Police announced shortly before midnight it was conducted a death investigation behind the store, located on County Line Road. The cause of death has not been released, but published media reports indicate the victim had severe head trauma.

Limestone County Coroner Mike West said the male victim is from Georgia. His name has not been released, pending notification of next of kin.
The suspects, whose names have not been released, are described as an 18-year-old black male and a 17-year-old black male. Published media reports indicate the suspects lived at the Three Springs treatment facility on Browns Ferry Road in Madison, but that has not been independently confirmed by The News Courier.
The two suspects were reportedly found at around 8 a.m. this morning in an abandoned house not far from the crime scene. Huntsville Police and the Limestone County Sheriff’s Officer assisted in the search.
A Sheriff’s Office spokesman said the two suspects had not been booked into the Limestone County Jail as of 11 a.m.
