New programs: “We will have a time of innovation, a 30 minute time frame on Fridays where students will work and create projects they’re passionate about and interested in that will relate back to the curriculum, and that will impact our school and possibly our community. They may find something with our outdoor classroom that they would like to see improved, like the benches need to be painted or flower boxes they would like to build, and they can build those for the outdoor classroom.”

What makes Brookhill Elementary School special: “We’re a family, from our students to our staff to our parents. It’s a small community and it makes everyone feel welcome every time you come in the door.”

Primary objectives for 2017-2018: “We’re going to start planning for the fine arts academy beginning in the 2018-2019 school year. We’re just focusing on our curriculum, reading and writing, in all the content areas.”

What the principal is looking forward to: “I’m looking forward to meeting all the students and parents who will be associated with Brookhill Elementary and being part of a small school community.”
