When the citizens of Athens voted to allow alcohol sales several years ago they were told alcohol sales on Sunday would not be allowed. Now the mayor and council have decided they know best for the citizens of Athens, and think it is their decision to allow Sunday sales without a vote of the citizens. Typical politicians! Never enough tax money for this mayor and council. They want more tax money to give away to select developers and new retailers, which is unfair to existing retailers. We might also get more sidewalks that no one uses.
