Calhoun Community College’s athletic program will host a one-day softball camp Tuesday, the school announced recently.

The camp will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Calhoun softball field, 6250 U.S. 31 N., Tanner. Lunch will be provided for camp participants.

The day camp will provide girls in grades 7-12 an opportunity to learn the fundamentals of softball such as hitting, fielding, base running and other techniques of the game. Campers will receive individual and group training from Calhoun’s softball coaches.

“The softball camp is completely hands on,” said Nancy Keenum, head softball coach for Calhoun. “Campers will participate in various drills, skills challenges, and other fun games, which will help them enhance their softball career.”

The pre-registration fee is $75 by the June 10 deadline or $90 on the day of camp from 8:15 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. Campers must bring bat, batting gloves, helmet, tennis shoes, glove and catching equipment.
