Strong-to-severe storms will impact much of the Tennessee Valley through the overnight hours and again Sunday morning.
The primary threat tonight will be damaging wind gusts over 60 mph and large hail. A few tornadoes cannot be ruled out with the strongest storms, according to a hazardous weather outlook issued by the National Weather Service in Huntsville.
Sunday, scattered strong storms will be possible across the region, though coverage should diminish during the afternoon. Conditions will be favorable for redevelopment of strong-to-severe storms Sunday afternoon, however.
A slow moving cold front will bring more widespread storms Sunday night and Monday. Although a few strong to marginally severe storms will be possible, the greatest threat will come from locally heavy rainfall.
The cold front is expected to stall near or just south of the region, with generally low to moderate chances for storms continuing through Friday.
