• Women’s Day. Little Ezekiel Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate Women’s Day beginning at 11 a.m. Sunday, May 28. Minister Cynthia McCrary will be the speaker. Music will be provided by the women of Little Ezekiel Missionary Baptist Church. The theme is “Christian Women Working Together in Unity.” Public invited. More information: 256-232-6247.
• Peace anniversary. Peace Missionary Baptist Church, 1214 Plainview Circle in Athens, will celebrate its anniversary Sunday, May 28, with Pastor Keevin Crutcher at 11 a.m. and Pastor Damon Betts and the Little Zion Church Family at 2 p.m. More information: Mike Bailey at 256-874-0565.
• The Bleeding Church. Bondage Breakers Ministry will host The Bleeding Church from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, May 28, with Pastor C. Hunter at Hampton Inn and Suites Convention Center, 1222 Kelli Drive in Athens. More information: Pastor C. Hunter at 256-226-2821.
• Summer program. David’s Temple Missionary Baptist Church at 11273 Stewart Road, Tanner, will host the Operation Timothy II Summer Program from 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., June 5-July 28. The cost is $260. The program is for children ages 5-13. A parent meeting is set for 5:30 p.m. Sunday, May 28. More information: 256-232-8035.
• Vacation Bible School. Fairview Baptist Church, 27550 Nick Davis Road in Athens, will host a “Galactic Starveyor” themed VBS from 9 a.m.-noon June 5-9 at the church. There will be a family night at the church with dinner beginning at 5 p.m. June 9.
• Vacation Bible School. Coxey Church of Christ, U.S. 72 West in Athens at New Cut Road, will host a “Bible Stories in the Big Apple” themed VBS from 9 a.m-1 p.m. Saturday, June 10. Registration will start at 8:30 a.m. The VBS program is set in the backdrop of New York City and Checkers the Cab and Whiskers the Cat will share Bible stories about the Wall of Jericho and Tower of Babel. Activities will include Bible lessons, crafts, outdoor activities, puppet show, skit, snacks and lunch.
