Swimmers saved from dangerous rip currents off Alabama coast

ORANGE BEACH, Ala. (AP) — Authorities are warning of the dangers of rip currents that threatened swimmers off Alabama’s Gulf coast.
WALA-TV reports that at least three people were involved in two different water rescues on Wednesday in the Orange Beach area. No injuries were reported.

Orange Beach city leaders say the Wednesday rescues weren’t the first ones to happen this week. They say red flags have been flying for the past week, and they want everyone to be aware of dangerous rip currents as Memorial Day weekend approaches.
