The community is rallying around Johnson Elementary second-grader Ashleigh Jones who is in Children’s Hospital in Birmingham.

Jones was hit by a car Tuesday afternoon on Copeland Road shortly after getting off a school bus.

All Limestone County Schools and Brookhill Elementary School in Athens are participating in Hat Day today. Students can pay $1 to wear a hat and proceeds go to Jones’ family.

Donations to the Jones’ family can be made through the Ashleigh Jones Medical Fund at any Redstone Federal Credit Union. A GoFundMe page is up, https://www.gofundme.com/ashleigh-jones-medical-fund, where donations can be made electronically.
