AUBURN, Ala. (AP) — Auburn coach Bruce Pearl has signed junior college guard/forward Malik Dunbar.

Dunbar, whose signing was announced Monday, averaged 15.6 points and 6.4 rebounds per game for the College of Central Florida as a sophomore. He shot 49.4 percent from the floor and 29.3 percent from 3-point range.

Pearl says the 6-foot-6, 230-pound Dunbar brings a physical presence that could help Auburn strengthen its defense and rebounding. Both were weak spots for the Tigers last season.

In the Florida JUCO Shootout in December, Dunbar averaged 29.5 points and 10.5 rebounds. He scored 10.6 points a game as a freshman.

Auburn had already signed a pair of four-star prospects in November, guard Davion Mitchell and forward Chuma Okeke.

Okeke is Georgia’s Mr. Basketball.
