- Tanner's Kirstin Brown was a first-team all-state selection for the second consecutive season.
Tanner senior basketball player Kirstin Brown signed a national letter of intent with Delta State University Wednesday during a ceremony at the high school.
Brown was named the 2A Girls Player of the Year at the Alabama Sports Writers Association awards luncheon last week. She was again a first-team All-State selection in Class 2A after leading her team to the state championship game in Birmingham earlier this month. It was Brown’s fourth appearance in Final Four competition.
She finished her high school career with more than 2,200 career points and over 1,100 rebounds. During her senior season, Brown averaged 19.6 points and 11 rebounds. She recorded a double-double in 27 of 30 games this year and in every game of the postseason.
Last month, Brown represented Tanner in the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game, becoming just the third player in school history to do so.
