Man charged with murder in death of Pulaski woman

A man held in the kidnapping of a Pulaski, Tennessee, woman whose remains were later found on his property has been charged with murder, according to a press release.

Morris Edward Crook, 60, of Pulaski, was charged with the first-degree murder of Sherry D. Wallace, aggravated assault and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. His bond was set at $500,000 and he remains in the Giles County, Tennessee, jail.

Wallace, 57, also of Pulaski, was last seen Feb. 16 when she left her residence. Investigators with the Giles County Sheriff’s Department and Pulaski Police Department searched Crook’s property and collected evidence. Wallace’s vehicle was also found on property owned by Crook.

Wallace’s body was found buried in the vicinity of Crook’s residence, according to a release.

Crook is set to appear in circuit court March 27.
