Limestone man charged with breaking and entering

A Limestone County man was arrested Wednesday for unlawful breaking and entering a motor vehicle. Lance Skyler Thornton of 15280 Elk River Mills Road was arrested by Athens Police Officer James Kennedy and Sgt. Eric White after a citizen gave a description of his vehicle, according to Police Chief Floyd Johnson.
At approximately 2 a.m., the police department received a call from a residence in the 17000 block of Clearview Street, Johnson said.

The caller told dispatchers someone was looking in the cab of a unlocked truck and gave a description of the suspect’s vehicle, the chief said.
Officers located the vehicle driving down Clearview Street and recovered a jack and a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses that were taken from the victim’s truck, Johnson said
Thornton was booked at Athens Police Department and transported to the Limestone County Jail.
