More than 125 employers are expected to be on hand Tuesday for a job fair at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville.
The regional fair is sponsored by the Alabama Career Center System in partnership with WAFF-48 and the city of Huntsville. It is set for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the South Hall of the VBC.
Anticipated employers include Teledyne Brown Engineering, Regions Bank, Aerojet Rocketdyne, GE Aviation, Polaris, Belk, Walmart, Home Depot, and more.
The job fair is free and open to the public. Jobseekers are encouraged to pre-register online at www.labor.alabama.gov/jobfair. Pre-registering will allow for faster entry, and participants are strongly encouraged to print their confirmation and bring it with them to the job fair or to save their confirmation e-mail on their phones. Jobseekers may also register on-site.
Employers who wish to register for the job fair can also visit www.labor.alabama.gov/jobfair or contact the Huntsville Career Center at 256-851-0537. There is no charge for employers to participate.
“We are excited to host our first regional job fair in North Alabama,” said Alabama Department of Labor Secretary Fitzgerald Washington. “A huge variety of employers have registered for the job fair, encompassing all sorts of career fields, such as engineering, hospitality, banking, retail, education, and more. All of them have available jobs to fill – it’s one of our requirements to participate. This is a great opportunity for anyone looking for a job or looking for a change in career.”
Applicants should come to the job fair with multiple copies of their résumés. They should be prepared to interview and should be dressed professionally.
