Two men are currently in area hospitals after being shot Saturday in Athens. 

Athens Police Chief Floyd Johnson said the department received a call at 2:35 p.m. involving a shooting on Hardy Street. 

Johnson said a short time later APD received a second call from Athens-Limestone Hospital about a person in the emergency room that had also been shot and arrived by private vehicle.

One of the males was shot in the arm and the other male was shot in the leg, according to Johnson. The man, who was shot in leg, was transported to Huntsville Hospital by Medflight, the chief said. 

Investigators have been unable to interview either male at this time, Johnson said. Conditions of the men are unavailable at this time.
