A Lawrence County man was killed Saturday in an accident at Carpenter Technology Corporation in Tanner, an official said.

Limestone County Coroner Mike West said Robin W. Kimbrough, 55, of Mount Hope, died after the Bobcat utility task vehicle he was driving flipped over on him, trapping him underneath. Kimbrough was found unresponsive at about 3 p.m. after workers had not heard from him.

Decatur Fire and Rescue responded to the scene and were able to remove to UTV, but Kimbrough was pronounced dead at the scene.

A Carpenter official had not responded to an email regarding the fatal accident as of The News Courier’s deadline. Published media reports said Kimbrough was not a Carpenter employee but instead a contract worker.

Services for Kimbrough were set to be held at 11 a.m. today at the Old Town Creek Baptist Church.
