An Athens Utilities worker injured in a Wednesday afternoon crash is listed in fair condition inside Huntsville Hospital’s neurosurgical unit, a hospital spokesman said Thursday.

Landon Lawrence, 27, of Toney, was injured around 2:45 p.m. when the 2015 Athens Utilities truck he was a passenger in left Sewell Road and flipped into a resident’s yard, according Alabama State Troopers. The driver of the truck was not injured and both men were wearing seat belts.

A homeowner in the area was speaking with a neighbor when he witnessed the crash and helped the men get out of the wreckage.
