A Limestone County man and woman are dead after an apparent murder-suicide that occurred earlier today at a residence on East Limestone Road.

Jackie Perry, 73, and Linda Baugher Perry, 72, were found dead of gunshot wounds when deputies arrived at the residence shortly after 10 a.m.

Limestone County Sheriff’s Office Spokesman Stephen Young said the couple was going through a divorce.

“It appears Linda had gone to the residence to remove some of her items when Jackie apparently shot her before also shooting himself,” Young said in a statement.

Some of Linda’s family, who apparently had arrived to help her remove the items, called 911 to report they heard gunshots inside the residence.
