County arrests

The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests Thursday. Some arrests may be previously reported, probation or bond revocations or part of a grand jury indictment:

• Javier Martinez, 18, of 18414 Alabama 99, Lot 87, Athens, DUI and minor in possession of alcohol

• Crystal Lee McCart, 30, of 21720 Piney Chapel Road, Athens, violating terms of probation on previous conviction for possession of a controlled substance

• Dustin Ray Payne, 34, of 6385 Castle Heights Road, Morris, five counts of third-degree burglary (grand jury indictment)

• Heather Leanne Rice, 32, of 16358 Blackburn Lane, Athens, first-degree theft of property and promoting prison contraband (grand jury indictment), and violating terms of probation on previous conviction for possession of a controlled substance

• Stephanie Dawn Starnes, 37, of 12808 Shaw Road, Athens, negotiating a worthless negotiable instrument

County thefts

The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office reported the following thefts Thursday:

• ATHENS — Jumper cable, battery charger and extension cord, total $84, stolen from 15300 block Hastings Road between Dec. 24, 2016, and Jan. 4

• ELKMONT — LG brand 36-inch flat-screen television and bag of glassware, total $700, stolen during burglary at Alabama 99 storage unit between Dec. 25, 2016, and Jan. 4

City arrests/thefts

The Athens Police Department reported no new arrests or thefts by deadline Thursday.
