The National Weather Service in Huntsville has issued a hazardous weather outlook for North Alabama and portions of Middle Tennessee.

Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible Monday afternoon and into the evening, according to the NWS.

The NWS said damaging wind gusts will be the main severe weather threat. However, a tornado and large hail is possible.

The threat of severe weather is expected to diminish after midnight.

Locally dense fog is also possible on mountain and ridge tops today due to cloudiness, NWS said.
