DOTHAN, Ala. (AP) — Jurors have convicted a south Alabama man of capital murder in the gunshot killings of three people at a nightclub in 2012.

A jury in Houston County returned the verdict Thursday against 26-year-old Ryan Clark Petersen of Enterprise. He was accused of killing two men and a woman at Teasers Nightclub in Wicksburg.

The jury will return Jan. 3 to recommend either life without parole or death for Petersen.

The Dothan Eagle reports that prosecutors argued Petersen killed out of revenge after being kicked out of the bar.

The defense claimed the man wasn’t responsible for what he did because he was mentally impaired and drunk.
