Missing woman found dead; suspect held in Tuscaloosa

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) — The body of a woman who was missing for more than two weeks has been found in Tuscaloosa County and a suspect has been jailed.
The Tuscaloosa News reports the body of 30-year-old Jenette Sims Brannon was found Wednesday night at the bottom of an embankment in the Cottondale area. The cause of death was not released.

Capt. Gary Hood, commander of Tuscaloosa County’s Metro Homicide Unit, said Brannon was found behind the home of 58-year-old Charles Richard Sexton.
Booking records show Sexton was charged with murder. He was being held Thursday in the Tuscaloosa County jail with bond set at $75,000. No information on whether he has an attorney was available.
Brannon’s family last saw her Dec. 2 and spoke with her on the phone on Dec. 4.
