The body of Brenda Marie Catron, 38, who lived in a detached building adjacent to a home in the 19000 block of Airfield Street, was discovered around 2:30 a.m. Monday when firefighters responded to a call that the building was on fire.
Catron was originally from California, according to Limestone County Coroner Mike West. Athens Police Chief Floyd Johnson said Catron had been in Athens less than a year and was living in the converted house that belonged to her boyfriend’s grandparents.
Officials said in a press conference late Monday they do not suspect foul play in the incident, but have yet to release a possible cause for the fire.
