County arrests

The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests Wednesday. Some arrests may be previously reported, probation or bond revocations or part of a grand jury indictment:

• Elbert Joe Atchley, 43, of 16 McAllister Road, Fayetteville, Tennessee, DUI (other substances)

• Kasey Austin Berner, 27, of 25821 Cobblestone Lane, Athens, illegal possession of credit/debit card

• Kelsey Cardell Johnson, 27, of 204 Henry Drive, Athens, operating vehicle without insurance, harassment and two counts of driving while license suspended

• Michael Wade Simpson, 47, of 20528 Harris Loop, Elkmont, attempt to elude by any means and speeding

County thefts

The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office reported the following thefts Wednesday:

• TANNER — Central air unit, value $1,200, refrigerator, water heater, furniture and ceiling fans, no value given, stolen between March 1 and May 2015 (reported Dec. 20, 2016) in 9900 block Lucas Ferry Road

• ATHENS — Eighteen gallons of gasoline, value $35, stolen Dec. 18 in 21600 block Alabama 99

• ATHENS — Purse and cash, total value $15, stolen Dec. 20 in 7700 block U.S. 72

• ATHENS — Michael Kors purse, value $300, taken during breaking and entering of a vehicle Dec. 20 in 7700 block U.S. 72

City arrests

The Athens Police Department reported the following arrests Wednesday:

• Ernest Williams, 49, of 602 Wright St., Athens, second-degree possession of marijuana and public intoxication

• Stephen Daniel Wilson, 33, of 1530 Ready Section Road, Hazel Green, third-degree assault

City thefts

The Athens Police Department reported the following theft Wednesday:

• Apple iPhone 5, value $47, stolen Dec. 20 in 22000 block U.S. 72
