Officials have yet to say what might have caused a large fire that destroyed a barn Thursday night in west-central Limestone County.

Eloise and John Crow of New Cut Road lost two motor homes, a pontoon boat and several recreational vehicles and supplies. The couple had recently finished remodeling one of their mobile homes for a trip to Florida.

Owens Fire Chief Gary Lovell said the Crows’ insurance company will likely be the agency to determine the source of the fire as foul play is not suspected.

The intense blaze took more than four hours to extinguish in near-freezing temperatures, but no injuries were reported, Lovell said.
