A quick-thinking convenience store employee is being credited with the arrest of a Limestone County man on attempted theft and drug charges.

Limestone County Sheriff’s Office Spokesman Stephen Young said the employee photographed 33-year-old Homero Corona of 23764 Pepper Farm Lane, Elkmont, unsuccessfully attempting to load an all-terrain vehicle into the back of his van. The attempted theft occurred in the Piney Chapel area on Dec. 6.

Young said the convenience store employee took a photo of the suspect and van before calling authorities. The ATV was recovered in the same area where the attempted theft took place by Deputy Danny Craig.

After deputies located Corona, Young said he was found to be in possession of ice and meth. He was charged with misdemeanor attempted burglary and possession of methamphetamine. Corona’s bond was set at $5,000 and he remained at the Limestone County Jail Wednesday evening.
