COVINGTON, La. (AP) — A Louisiana prosecutor says an Alabama man has been convicted of downloading child pornography three years ago at his office in St. Tammany Parish.

District Attorney Warren Montgomery said in a news release Tuesday that 39-year-old Jason Yates of Grand Bay, Alabama, was convicted last week on seven charges.

Montgomery says two were for possessing pornography of juveniles, and five were for possessing pornography of juveniles under the age of 13.

District Judge William Knight scheduled sentencing Jan. 5. Montgomery says Yates faces 10 to 40 years in prison.

Montgomery says state investigators learned that possible pornography had been downloaded to a computer at a Covington business where Yates was a warehouse worker. He says nobody else was there at the time.

A jury convicted him Dec. 8.
