Law enforcement officers in Athens and Limestone County are currently looking for a man who robbed someone in the parking lot of McDonald’s on U.S. 72 in Athens.

According to emergency radio reports, a black man struck the victim in the head, apparently robbed him, then ran across the Wendy’s restaurant parking lot to Taco Bell, where he entered an awaiting four-door silver sedan — possibly a 2010 Hyundai Sonata or Elantra — driven by another person and occupied by another person.

Chief Floyd Johnson said he could not confirm details of the incident at this time because the search is ongoing and police have not had time to interview witnesses.
